AAE has been tasked with conducting the Midterm Evaluation (MTE) of the ""Securing a Living Amazon through Landscape Connectivity in Southern Guyana"" project, a WWF-US GEF project (ID: G0019), in accordance with the project's Terms of Reference (ToRs).
The Midterm Evaluation (MTE) will provide WWF, the Environmental Protection Agency of Guyana (EPA), the Protected Areas Commission (PAC), the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC), and other project stakeholders with a comprehensive and systematic account of the Project’s performance from Sept. 2023 to Sept 2025. The evaluation will focus on progress in strengthening landscape connectivity through improved management of the Kanuku Mountains Protected Area and the North Rupununi Wetlands.
The evaluation will assess how productive activities (forestry, agriculture, tourism) are being integrated with sustainable land and water management practices, ensuring the long-term ecological health of these landscapes while providing livelihood and economic benefits for Indigenous and local communities. Cross-cutting themes to be reviewed include gender responsiveness, Indigenous peoples’ engagement, safeguards, and knowledge management. Findings will support accountability, transparency, and adaptive management, offering practical recommendations for the project’s remaining years (2025–2027).
