CReW-DR (“Climate-resilient Watersheds and Communities through Nature-Based Solutions and Innovative Financing in the Dominican Republic”) is a proposed GCF-funded project centred on the Yaque del Norte watershed and the Miches coastal municipality, for which TNC is the GCF Accredited Entity (AE). It is the Dominican Republic's first nationally led GCF project. The proposed financing structure comprises approximately USD 17.5 million in GCF subordinated loans (deployed via national financial institutions to land managers and MSMEs) and USD 40 million in GCF grants, alongside co-financing commitments of approximately USD 27.5 million. TNC has engaged Pegasys, in association with AAE, to deliver the Project Preparation Facility (PPF) assignment: a full suite of technical, safeguards, gender, financial, and M&E studies culminating in a submission-ready GCF Funding Proposal (FP).
