Environmental and Social Due Diligence of the Wind Energy project- “Campo Palomas”. Operation Phase – Uruguay

Exat Consulting (Nicefield S.A.) requested AAE a comprehensive assessment to provide them with the due diligence services related to the environmental, social, health and occupational safety issues for the Project “Campo Palomas” Wind Farm, in relation to its operation phase. The due diligence consisted on identifying gaps and social and environmental risks that the Project may have when comparing it to national and international standards. For this, AAE did regular visits to the farm, and elaborated reports and matrixes.

POCH S.A requested AAE a comprehensive assessment to provide them with the due diligence services related to the environmental, social, health and occupational safety issues for the Project “Campo Palomas” Wind Farm, in relation to its design and construction phases to be provided to the banks funding the project. The assessment was conducted taking into consideration the project’s compliance with sectorial permits and associated environmental regulations, identifying possible compliance gaps.

AAE was requested by INVENERGY S.A. to design the ESMP and the wind farm contingency plan to present it the National Environmental Authority from Uruguay.

Design of the “Out of Use Tires Management Master Plan” for the National Tires Import Chamber –  Uruguay

AAE was hired to design the Out of Use Tires Management Master Plan for the National Tires Import Chamber of Uruguay, that describes, according to Decree 358-015 of January 8, 2015, all the necessary steps in its Chapter III.

To carry out the assignment, a multidisciplinary team were conducted revision, analysis and research tasks and presented the Master Plan to the National Environmental Authority (DINAMA), incorporating comments.

Location Environmental Viability of the Used Tires Recovery Project.

To be able to determine the scope of the assignment of the Project and its future impact, AAE reviewed all the documents presented to obtain the AAP in 2012 by Fadimax SA for the establishment and operation of the Grain collection facility. Also, AAE reviewed if incompatibility of uses existed and a detailed description was conducted as well as possible impacts and mitigation measures foreseen by the Project.

Environmental Impact Assessment of the Hospital Waste Treatment Plant

AAE put together a multidisciplinary team of engineers and environmentalists to analyze, determine de impacts and mitigation measures necessary to present the EIA to the National Environmental Authority of Uruguay for the Military Hospital Waste Treatment plant.

Report on best practices for the transport and storage of coal in Uruguay

AAE was hired to conduct an analysis of the situation in relation to the transport and adequate storage of pet coal to the National Administration for Fuels, Alcohol and Portland (ANCAP). To do so, AAE designated an economist, an environmentalist and a Geologist to analyze the current national situation (technical and legal) and analysis of best international practices to make suitable recommendations to the client’s needs.
