She has worked at the United Nations since 1983, developing her career in UNDP, holding various positions from program assistant to coordinator of the Environment Unit. In this last position was a charge of coordination of the Environmental portfolio in Brazil, which at that time included 96 projects with a total budget of US $ 245 million. In addition to overseeing the formulation and implementation of the project portfolio, it was assigned as a focal point for the GEF, the Montreal Protocol and the main UN conventions in the environmental area, including South-South cooperation activities. He was also part of the UNDP delegation to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development “Earth Summit – Rio 92” and supported a number of preparatory projects.

From 1999 to 2003 she was Deputy Regional Director for the UNEP Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. Its main functions related to political dialogue (non-partisan) and advice on environmental issues as Secretariat of the Forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean with responsibility for the Secretariat.

An experience in the deep knowledge of the environmental issues of Latin America and the Caribbean, the formulation, management and execution of projects, multilateral environmental agreements, and the historical and real political situation of the region.
